A to Z: "Aristocratic Wines at Democratic Prices"

Great wine, affordable price. You can't help but love a marketing message like that.

I'm talking, of course, about A to Z Wineworks, and the tagline that appears on their wine bottles and web site.

This past weekend, with temperatures topping 90F in Beaverton, we had the chance to enjoy a wonderful bottle of A to Z's 2006 Pinot Gris, while taking in the hot sun. Cold, delicately fruity, just a hint of something sweet -- all perfect for battling that fierce fireball in the sky.

Purchased for just $11.49 from the New Seasons Market on Cedar Hills, and with a screw cap top -- perfect for impromptu picnics, sans tire-bouchon -- this wine was hard to pass up as I made my rounds at the store. And so it ended up in my cart.

Immediately upon opening, its fresh, floral, fruity qualities filled the glass. It matches well with most salads -- including those with spinach, nuts, cheeses, vegetables, or fruit -- as well as most poultry and fish. Your barbecue should never feel lonely again so long as it is kept company by a bottle of this wine.

I have yet to be disappointed by a wine featuring the name "A to Z". We highly recommend this wine for even the most random of occasion.

Please write to us with your thoughts on A to Z's 2006 Pinot Gris, or any of their wines.

Santé,
