Several new arrivals at the Cellar…Northwest arrivals included – Willakenzie Estate’s new 2004 Pinot Gris ($20) with their Alsatian style of this refreshing, crisp white wine, and the highly awaited 2003 Pinot Noir from Lynn-Penner Ash ($45) rated 93 points by Wine Spectator, which packs an amazing amount of dense flavor into a lithe, elegant package, layering cherry, boysenberry and exotic spice character extending into its long finish, and 2 outstanding new 2004 Pinot Blanc’s from Ponzi ($16.99) and Elk Cove ($15.99) displaying that rich, creamy texture with subtle hints of sweetness characteristic of the varietal. International arrivals included – From France – 2 outstanding Sauvignon’s from the Loire Valley – Oisley & Theesen 2003 “Les Gourmets” ($9.99), and Pajot’s 2004 Cote du Gascone Blanc ($9.99) with lively, well balanced acidity and crispness characteristic of the Loire Valley.

This Saturday, July 2nd wine tasting will feature Wines of Summer, Part 2.
Join us Saturday from 1-4pm at the Cellar on 10th for complimentary wine tasting featuring by popular demand another round of Wines of Summer. This week we will taste some more refreshing new summertime wines from the Northwest. We’ll be showcasing wines from Kramer (refreshing sparkling wine), Sineann (un-oaked Chardonnay), Dadelus Cellars (Pinot Gris), Poets Leap (Riesling) and Patricia Green Cellars (Sauvignon Blanc). We look forward to seeing you Saturday from 1-4pm for a second edition of outstanding new summertime wines!
Our featured wine of the week:
Our featured wine of the week is the 2004 Viu Manet Secreto Viognier from Chile. This is Viu Manet’s Reserve label and is a superb refreshing and luscious Viognier displaying flavors and aromas of peach and nectarines with a hint of sweet spiciness and earthiness on the finish. A steal for a reserve wine from Chile at $10.99/bottle.

Mark these dates in your calendar for our upcoming wine tastings…..July 9th we will be featuring wines from Southern Oregon (Rogue, Umpqua and Applegate Valley’s) where outstanding white and red wines are produced. We’ll be sampling an award winning Pinot Blanc from Foris and their Early Muscat, and Fly-over-Red, in addition to wines from Abacela and Troon Vineyards, and on July 16th Barnard Griffin will be back at the Cellar for wine tasting showcasing their refreshing summertime wines and outstanding big red’s they produce, and July 23rd will feature International summertime wines.
Upcoming Winemaker’s dinner’s – July 23rd Amity Vineyards, September 17th - Winter’s Hill, October 8th - Zerba Cellars, and November 5th - Wines of Austria.
