Beaverton, Oregon - As the leading web site about Oregon wines, OregonWines.com is constantly looking for ways to improve our service, for both our loyal visitors, and our valued member wineries. We would therefore like to introduce you to a new online wine shop we are launching this month, and invite all Oregon wineries to join OregonWines.com to participate and benefit from this new service.  
 
 
Why An Online Wine Shop?  
 
Recently, we concluded a nine-month survey of our web site visitors. In the survey, we asked numerous questions, the most significant being:  
 
"If given the opportunity to buy wines through OregonWines.com, would you?"  
 
An overwhelming 82% of respondents answered "Yes" -- a very significant number given our 50,000 monthly visitors. We immediately knew an online wine shop would present a fantastic opportunity for Oregon wineries.  
 
Additionally, we asked our visitors for input on the type of online store that would best match their needs, and learned the following:  
 
- Our users would spend $30-40 per month on wine purchases through OregonWines.com, depending on the price and types of wine available.  
 
- Our users are very brand-loyal. They like to keep their orders simple, and purchase wine from a single winery. They like to order 3-12 bottles at a time, just as they do when they stop in at your tasting room.  
 
- Our users are very concerned about security, and would prefer not to enter their credit card information at the time of ordering wine. They would gladly provide this information by phone, and would appreciate being able to speak with a person at the winery to complete their order.  
 
With this feedback, OregonWines.com set about building our new online wine shop. It is almost complete, and is slated for testing with live customers this month. The easy-to-use service will let our visitors order wines, and have the order sent directly to Oregon wineries for completion and fulfillment.  
 
 
How Does It Work, And How Do Oregon Wineries Benefit?  
 
Users arrive at OregonWines.com, and click on one of the Wine Shop links on our site. The users can then browse wines by winery. Users can then select the wines, add to basket, and check out. To complete their order, users provide their name, address, contact information and email address. After submitting their order, it is sent to the winery for processing. Because the winery fulfills the order, they retain all revenues from any sales made through this service.  
 
 
 
 
It Sounds Simple... Why No Bells Or Whistles?  
 
This system is designed for ease of use, so our customers will use it frequently, and wineries won't have to learn how to use new software or pay for costly e-commerce transactions. In other words, it's fast, easy, and will deliver results.  
 
 
How Is This Service Different Than Other Sites?  
 
Many e-commerce sites sell wine, but do it in an impersonal manner. While benefitting consumers' purchasing needs, these other sites do little to foster a relationship between the consumer and winemaker. Furthermore, these other sites remove wineries from the sales process, and end up keeping most profits from any sales. Ours is the only service that connects consumers directly with Oregon wineries, and furthermore, lets wineries keep all revenues from wine sales. Ours is the only service that has been designed out of the best interests of consumers and wineries, instead of our bottom line.  
 
 
How Much Does It Cost Wineries To Participate?  
 
This service will be included at no additional cost, as part of our $25/month Silver Level winery membership.  
 
 
What Do Wineries Need To Do To Participate?  
 
OregonWines.com will provide participating wineries with a list of basic questions, including available wines and prices, case discounts offered, states they can ship to, etc.  
 
We will enter the information into our wine shop, and let each winery know when we're ready to activate their listing. We will also provide wineries with a special login to our site, so as their inventory and offerings change, they can keep the wine shop information up to date.  
 
 
Why Are We Doing This?  
 
OregonWines.com wants to provide a better service for Oregon wineries and our loyal visitors. We want our web site to continue its impressive growth, and this service is the next logical step.
