OregonWines.com invites you to come out to the beach and enjoy great Jazz while tasting the best from Oregon's fine wine producers. This is the only event outside of the Portland Metro Area to have Rose Festival sanctioning!
The Who/What/Where's...
- What: Wine, Cheese and All That Jazz Festival
- When: June 19, 2004, 10am until 10pm
- Where: Rockaway Beach, 15 miles north of Tillamook, on the Oregon Coast.
- Why: To sample great wine and cheese, and take in the wonderful sounds of talented jazz musicians!
The Details...
For wine enthusiasts... the wine and cheese tasting will be spectacular. Willamette Valley Vineyards, Hauer of the Dauen, Marquam Hill, Cooper Mountain Vineyards, and Henry Estate will be at this event for you to taste and buy wine. This is truly a great collection of wineries, as each winery features a different style in the wines they make.
For jazz enthusiasts... the music will be something you won't want to miss. Michael Allen Harrison will perform from 11am to 1pm. Catch the tunes of Dan Balmer from 1pm to 3pm. The Portland Youth Jazz Orchestra will be playing from 3pm to 4pm. Tall Jazz will be from 5pm to 7pm, and the lineup will finish up with The Tom Grant Band with Valerie Day. For you Jazz fans, the music alone is reason enough to come out for the day.
And for everyone else? There will be food, crafts, and a host of other vendors present as well, not to mention sandy beaches for walking on. Set in a great, scenic location, this event is perfect for the entire family.
For those of you who have not been to Rockaway before or don't know the exact location, Rockaway is north of Tillamook on the Oregon Coast, along Highway 101. As you enter Rockaway, look for signs directing you to the event.
