Spring is Here! Almost...

Ah, that wonderful time of year in Oregon, when the snow melts, the people thaw, the sun comes out for a few hours at a time, and you are reminded of the wonderful springtime weather to come.

That can mean only one thing - wine tasting season is about to begin!

Many of Oregon's wineries are open for tasting year-round, if during the winter months the hours are limited. With the arrival of Spring, however, the wineries will begin extending their hours, and on-site venues, concerts, dinners, receptions, and other winery events will begin picking up as well, ensuring there is plenty for you to see and do while you taste.

True, there is nothing quite as romantic as visiting wineries and tasting during a winter snowfall - but even that cannot compare to doing the same under a springtime sun, driving down narrow country roads with the windows rolled down, your hand catching the breeze as it blows past, and the next winery coming into view as you round the corner.

It will still be another month before the Spring weather is officially on us, so stay tuned for local wineries to being opening their doors for the 2004 season - and as always, stop in at OregonWines.com for the latest winery tourism info!
