(Rickreall, Oregon) In just 3 months after starting the effort, Eola Hills Wine Cellars has donated $14,000 to Oregon schools. In order to help with Oregon's education funding, Eola Hills established the "Oregon Education Assistance Fund" in March. Consumers, through their purchase of Eola Hills' wine, have made this program a success.

"We want to accomplish two things," said Operations Manager Eric Rogers, "First, raise money for a great cause... Oregon Schools. Second, make a statement, inviting other Oregon wineries and businesses of all kinds to join us in encouraging Oregon consumers to 'Buy Oregon, keep your dollars here in Oregon, for the benefit of all who live here!' What could possibly benefit Oregon more than the education of our children?"

Eola Hills has donated a portion of every case sold through restaurants and retailers in April, May and June 2003 and the effort will continue. "As one of Oregon's largest wine producers, we're excited about the amount of funds we can generate," added Rogers. Funds will be allocated based on sales by region within Oregon. Eola Hills is welcoming matching fund donors and is hosting an August 18th golf tournament at the Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby with the proceeds to benefit the Oregon Education Assistance fund. "We encourage anyone interested to join us for a great event for a great cause on one of Oregon's Premier golf courses".
